10 October 2009 – Tonight Madina Lake opened the show at Brixton Academy and after rushing around a bit late I arrived in the pit just as they were starting their second song.
I had never before seen these guys live and I didn’t think I would know much of their stuff but I was quite wrong as most of their set seemed familiar and I knew quite a few of the lyrics. I give them credit for their performance because it was obvious that that the crowd was here for the headliners but they all ended up having a good time. The lighting was amazing to watch from the crowd but a little difficult to work with right by the stage because majority of the lighting was aimed mid stage leaving the guys silhouetted from the pit. I did get a few shots that I really like but it was quite definitely interesting even more because these guys must be endorsed by some sort of energy drink (referring to the way they run around the big stage).
I liked it and know that I will be checking out more of their stuff on Spotify.
