24 July 2009 – Tonight I photographed, old school thrash-metal band, Testament and they really put on an amazing show.

I some times worry about seeing bands from back in the day for some reason, thinking that they might be cheesy but I have yet to be proved right. I wasn’t feeling the opening band and all I could wait for was the moment when Testament would hit the stage. When they did I was immediately thrown in to the chaos-ness that was the photographers mosh pit. It was funny. The music sent me on a skateboard video type of journey and I was definitely rocking out while shooting this show. Chuck Billy is an amazing front man and his size and presence is just so great that he makes you want to listen to him and really pay attention although the quality of the music they are playing does that on it’s own as well.

This was a super show at a venue that I always enjoy shooting at. The photographers pit was a little too cluttered so I kept myself to stage left to avoid the show-down that often takes place. I enjoy music, I enjoy live shows and I enjoy being a part of capturing something like this.
