50mething portraits

I was recently commissioned by artist Paul Jenner to shoot a series of portraits for his music project “50mething”.

Paul is an incredibly interesting person, and hearing his story had a big impact on me before we even stepped into the studio. Having very recently overcome cancer, his energy and outlook on life is genuinely inspiring, and that positivity carried through into the shoot.

We photographed the session in a London studio, and I wanted to create something that reflected the feeling I was getting from the music he had shared with me so far — something honest, uplifting, and grounded.
