Kyra Cooney-Cross and Caitlin Foord for Adidas

I was recently commissioned by Adidas to photograph two incredible footballers, Kyra Cooney-Cross and Caitlin Foord, as part of their #YouGotThis campaign.

Both Kyra and Caitlin are part of the Matildas, the Australian Women’s National Football Team, and both play for Arsenal. It was a real pleasure to spend time with them and create images that celebrate their talent, personality and the work they put into the game.

I had photographed Kyra before, so it was lovely to catch up with her again, and it was great meeting Caitlin for the first time. They were both brilliant to work with, bringing the perfect mix of professionalism, energy and personality to the shoot.

The best shoots are always the ones where everyone works together towards the same goal, and this was definitely one of those. We collaborated closely to create the images Adidas needed for the campaign, while still making sure the photographs felt natural and authentic to the players.

It’s always a great feeling seeing images from a shoot out in the world, whether that’s across social media, in campaigns or through the media. Knowing that photographs you’ve created are helping tell someone’s story is one of the most rewarding parts of the job.
