The Blackout

I first saw The Blackout perform in 2009. I recall having instantly thought that I would love to work with them. As the years went on, I was commissioned to photograph a few of their live shows, and they became one of my favourite live performances.

In 2013, The Blackout released their album, Start The Party. I was commissioned (by Cooking Vinyl) to photograph the album artwork as well as all the promotion work surrounding its release. In order to do this, I flew to Ibiza with the band where we met up with Matthew Pritchard (Dirty Sanchez). There we spent a few days documenting absolutely everything we could. During this time, we created album imagery; a 6-page article for Loaded Magazine; postcards for Kerrang Magazine and exclusive images for other globally recognised magazines.

Over the years, I worked with the guys on numerous occasions until they decided to terminate the band. The Blackout is by far the most charismatic group of people I have worked with during my time as a photographer. I particularly appreciated their passion and time for anyone who was interested in what they were doing creatively off and on stage.

Here are some of my favourite photographs and placements of images taken of The Blackout during the time we worked together.
