The Wild Things – Make Our Own Way There
The Wild Things and I have built a long-standing creative relationship over the years, and that trust makes every project we do together feel effortless.
When they came to me with their next single, they asked if I had any ideas for it (knowing it was one of my favourite tracks from them). With a tight budget and even tighter timing, I put together a concept and we started shooting right away.
We shot the entire music video in a single day around Hastings keeping things simple, fast, and instinctive. I directed and filmed everything myself on one of my trusty R5‘s and a fixed 35mm lens … this allowed us to work run-and-gun style to stay flexible and capture the energy of the performance and location.
It was a genuinely fun shoot to work on, with friends … the kind where you can really lean into instinct and tell your own version of the story.
The video is out now so go give it a watch/listen.
Looking for a music video director? If you’re planning your next release and want a creative, cinematic music video that captures your band’s identity, I’d love to hear about your project.
