Quay West Studios

I was recently commissioned to photograph some new images of Quay West Studios for owner Nicholas Bowen.

Nick and I have worked together on a number of music projects over the years, but his focus these days is firmly on building the studio into a creative home for artists and producing some incredible music along the way.

The studio itself is housed within St John’s Church, giving the space a character and atmosphere that you simply don’t find in many recording studios. Alongside recording sessions and production work, Quay West also hosts intimate live performances, making it a genuinely unique creative space.

I’ve always loved spending time in recording studios. There is something special about being surrounded by instruments, microphones and equipment, knowing that artists walk into these rooms with an idea and leave with music that didn’t exist before they arrived.
